The Time Clock That Stops Costing You Time

SYSDO 815 time and attendance terminal with a touchscreen and dual camera at an office entrance

Every morning looks the same: a line at the door, a badge that won't read, and a punch that nobody can verify later. Small delays at the entrance add up to lost hours and payroll disputes across the whole year.

The new SYSDO 815 terminal (model SYSFP815FTW) is built to take that friction out of the first minute of the workday. It verifies employees in about half a second and sends every punch straight into SYSDO, the cloud-based time and attendance platform.

One terminal, four ways to clock in

  • Facial recognition — a dual camera with infrared illumination identifies users even in poor lighting, in roughly 0.5 seconds.
  • Fingerprint — a proven method for fast, secure access.
  • Proximity card or fob — works with standard 125 kHz EM cards.
  • PIN code — a simple fallback for visitors or temporary staff.

Each method works on its own or in combination, such as face + card or fingerprint + PIN, depending on the security level you need. You set the method per employee, so nobody is forced into one way of clocking in.

Employees who prefer not to enroll biometrics can use a card, a fob or a PIN. SYSDO lets you assign the method person by person, on the same terminal.

A note on biometric data

SYSDO does not store face or fingerprint images. The terminal converts each scan into a mathematical hash that works only inside the system and cannot be reversed back into biometric data.

Several US states regulate the collection of biometric identifiers, including Illinois (BIPA) and Texas (CUBI). Before enabling facial recognition or fingerprints, check the notice and written-consent requirements that apply in your state with your legal counsel.

Built for the entrance, not just the office

The terminal has a 5-inch touchscreen that stays readable in daylight, and a rugged housing rated IP65 against dust and water jets. It handles dusty production halls as well as covered outdoor entrances, gates and vestibules. For exposed locations, an optional rain hood adds extra protection.

Installation without the headaches

Before installation

The terminal connects over Wi-Fi, LAN or RS-485. Out of the box it is set to connect automatically, with no manual IP configuration. Long, clearly labeled cable leads let you keep the power supply and door controller in a technical room, so only a clean terminal stays at the door.

Power is not delivered over PoE directly. If your network already runs PoE, an active PoE splitter lets you reuse that infrastructure.

Pairing with SYSDO

You add the terminal in the SYSDO web admin or with an activation code. Users, credentials and access rights load from the cloud; there is no local software to install.

Day-to-day operation

The terminal syncs with the cloud automatically. You manage users, access and notifications remotely, from one place.

More than "in" and "out"

Depending on your settings, employees can choose a reason when they clock out: lunch, a business trip or a break. Every record flows into SYSDO, where HR and management get clear reports, shift overviews and exports for payroll. To match the terminal to your schedules, see four shift types in SYSDO.

Part of a bigger system

The SYSDO 815 is one piece of a complete attendance and access setup. Add an alcohol detector at the entrance to screen for fitness for duty (compare stationary and portable alcohol detectors). For field crews without a fixed entrance, the SYSDO mobile app records attendance from anywhere.

Typical sites include:

  • office buildings and business centers
  • manufacturing plants and warehouses
  • hotels and reception areas
  • schools and campuses

The bottom line

The SYSDO 815 is not just another time clock. It combines fast verification, a flexible choice of methods and simple installation in one device. The result: shorter lines at the door, cleaner attendance data and better personnel accountability.
